Joanne and Gary Vohs have been raising, showing, training, and grooming Airedale terriers for over 43 years. The kennel name they chose was Jolee Aire Kennels, now a well known name in Airedale circles. Joanne's love of dogs in general and the Airedale specifically inspired her to own and operate a commercial dog grooming and boarding business for over 20 years.

In the early 1970's, when the AKC required all dog handlers to be licensed, Gary became a licensed professional show dog handler. While licensed to show all the terriers and toy breeds, Gary and Joanne specialized in the terriers.

With Joanne's expert grooming, Gary guided many quality dogs to their championships. Numerous wins came at regional and national speciality shows. Additionally, Gary has judged numerous Airedale sweepstakes for state and national specialities.

In the book, The New Airedale Terrior, written by Janet Framke and June Dutcher, the chapter on selecting and starting out your Airedale was authored by Joanne, as well as a couple of articles on Airedales written for the Airedale Annual published by Hoflin. Both Joanne and Gary are members in good standing of the Airedale Terrier Club of Wisconsin, the Airedale Terrier Club of Illinois, and the Airedale Terrier Club of America.

While working with many different breeds, their love of the Airedale never faltered, and is the only breed they have raised and continue to do so today. Joanne's keen knowledge of the Airedale and the other terrier breeds has enabled her to pursue her sculpting artistic talents.
